...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN NESS...NORTHEASTERN HODGEMAN...PAWNEE...RUSH AND
NORTHWESTERN EDWARDS COUNTIES...

At 530 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles west of Ash
Valley, or 14 miles south of La Crosse, moving northeast at 45 mph.

This is a very dangerous storm.

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and two inch hail. 

SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect 
         considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. 
         Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. 

Locations impacted include...
Larned, La Crosse, Bison, Burdett, Hanston, Garfield, Rush Center,
Rozel, Liebenthal, Timken, Alexander, Ash Valley, Nekoma, Gray,
Sanford, Shaffer, Hargrave, Frizell and Fort Larned Historic Site.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

FOR PAWNEE...RUSH AND NORTHWESTERN EDWARDS COUNTIES...

At 541 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles southeast of
Rush Center, or 9 miles south of La Crosse, moving northeast at 45
mph.

HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts. 

SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 
         mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. 

Locations impacted include...
Larned, La Crosse, Bison, Burdett, Garfield, Rush Center, Rozel,
Liebenthal, Timken, Ash Valley, Nekoma, Sanford, Shaffer, Hargrave,
Frizell and Fort Larned Historic Site.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR PAWNEE...RUSH AND NORTHWESTERN
EDWARDS COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 600 PM CDT...
                
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore the warning will be allowed to expire.  However small hail 
and wind gusts up to 55 mph are still possible with this 
thunderstorm.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for south central
and central Kansas.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for
northeast Rush county
