large pavillion building. There is extensive damage to roads, signs, camp
sites and the pavillion building. Livestock are cut off and drowned in the

The flood warning continues for
the Guadalupe River Near Cuero.
* At 8:45 AM Tuesday the stage was 26.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...the river will continue rising to near 40.3 feet by Thursday
morning then begin falling.
* Impact...At 40.0 feet...Massive flooding is occurring in the River Oaks, River
Haven, and Cypress Valley subdivisions ten miles south of Cuero near
Thomaston. Over one hundred homes are flooded up to nine feet requiring the
evacuation of hundreds of people. All roads into Cuero are closed except
Highway 87 which also closes several miles south of Cuero. The old CP&L plant
floods. Hundreds of livestock in the area are cut off and potentially drowned.
Flow threatens to pass across the flood plain into Gholke Creek and Cuero..

* At 8:45 PM Tuesday the stage was 28.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river level will continue falling and is expected to go below
flood stage by late Wednesday afternoon.
* Impact...At 28.0 feet...Most of Palmetto State Park is flooded including Farm
to Market 2091 through the park. Flow is approaching the large park pavillion
building. All park visitors are evacuated. At Highway 80 in Luling flow is
well into the flood plain and approaching the golf course. Livestock are cut
off in the flood plain below San Marcos to Gonzales..

* At 8:45 PM Tuesday the stage was estimated to be at 23.5 feet. The gage stopped
working at 3:45 AM Tuesday morning.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The creek level is believed to be falling and is expected to go
below bankfull Wednesday afternoon. Attempts have been made to have the Luling
police department or the Caldwell county Sheriff's Office check the actual
level and or conditions at Plum Creek on Biggs Road. An update to the actual
and forecast levels will be made if an actual level can be obtained or the
gauge is repaired.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding escapes banks into lower
sections of the flood plain..

* Forecast...The creek level will continue rising to around 22.5 feet by
early afternoon Wednesday. The creek level will fall below flood stage
Thursday afternoon.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...Sandies Creek escapes the channel hundreds of yards
into the flood plain from the headwaters to the Guadalupe River confluence.
Livestock in low areas are cut off and potentially drowned. Secondary roads
and low bridges are flooded and dangerous. The approaches of the
Westhoff/Cheapside road bridge over Sandies Creek are flooded and water is to
the bottom of the bridge..

* Forecast...The river level is expected to rise to near 40.0 feet by Thursday
morning.
* Impact...At 40.0 feet...Massive flooding is occurring in the River Oaks, River
Haven, and Cypress Valley subdivisions ten miles south of Cuero near
Thomaston. Over one hundred homes are flooded up to nine feet requiring the
evacuation of hundreds of people. All roads into Cuero are closed except
Highway 87 which also closes several miles south of Cuero. The old CP&L plant
floods. Hundreds of livestock in the area are cut off and potentially drowned.
Flow threatens to pass across the flood plain into Gholke Creek and Cuero..
