MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0950
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0951 PM CDT MON MAY 28 2012

AREAS AFFECTED...CNTRL OK

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 310...

VALID 290251Z - 290345Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 310
CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...SEVERE TSTM ACROSS CNTRL OK ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR
THE NEXT FEW HOURS.

DISCUSSION...TSTMS CONTINUE TO INITIATE ALONG NUMEROUS OUTFLOW
BOUNDARIES AND A SWD PROGRESSING COLD FRONT ACROSS CNTRL OK. COPIOUS
INSTABILITY HAS ALLOWED STORMS TO QUICKLY DEVELOP AND PRODUCE SEVERE
HAIL BEFORE BECOMING OUTFLOW DOMINATED. THIS TREND IS EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE...WITH STORMS BEGINNING TO FAVOR A MORE SWD/SEWD
PROPAGATION INTO AN INSTABILITY AXIS LOCATED FROM MURRAY COUNTY NEWD
INTO TULSA COUNTY. DEVELOPMENT N OF THE CURRENT LINE OF STORMS DOES
NOT APPEAR LIKELY AS THIS AREA HAS BEEN STABILIZED BY THE COLD
FRONT. ORGANIZATION OF THE SWD/SEWD PROPAGATING TSTMS INTO A SEVERE
CONVECTIVE LINE DOES NOT APPEAR LIKELY AS OUTFLOW DOMINATED STORMS
ARE STILL EXPECTED. THEREFORE...THE PRIMARY THREAT APPEARS TO BE
SEVERE HAIL WITH A LOW POTENTIAL FOR MARGINALLY SEVERE WIND GUSTS.
