NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVER CENTRAL NORTH
CAROLINA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT CHANCE
FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AT ANY GIVEN LOCATION...WITH THE PRIMARY
THREAT BEING DAMAGING WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. A STORM OR TWO
MAY PRODUCE HAIL IN EXCESS OF ONE INCH. ADDITIONALLY...FREQUENT TO
EXCESSIVE LIGHTNING WILL ACCOMPANY THE STRONGER STORMS. RESIDENTS
SHOULD BE PROMPT TO MOVE INDOORS AHEAD OF ANY THUNDERSTORM.

THE PRIMARY WINDOW FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE 2 TO 4 PM IN THE
NORTHWEST PIEDMONT...WHICH INCLUDES AREAS FROM THE TRIAD TO THE
TRIANGLE...AND 4 TO 8 PM FURTHER EAST AND SOUTH.

HEAT INDICES MAY BRIEFLY APPROACH 105 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON...
MAINLY EAST OF AN ALBEMARLE TO HENDERSON LINE.
