THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST GEORGIA...PIEDMONT
NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHEAST GEORGIA AND
THE WESTERN CAROLINAS TODAY AHEAD OF A STRONG COLD FRONT. THE
STORMS SHOULD BECOME MORE NUMEROUS DURING THE MIDDLE PART OF THE
DAY WITH SOME DAYTIME HEATING. SEVERAL OF THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO PRODUCE SEVERE WEATHER...MAINLY IN THE FORM OF
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL. HOWEVER...THERE SHOULD BE
ENOUGH WIND SHEAR AT LOW LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE THAT A FEW
TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE IN SOME OF THE STRONGER STORMS. THE
STORMS MAY EVENTUALLY ORGANIZE INTO A SQUALL LINE...BUT THIS MIGHT
NOT HAPPEN UNTIL LATE IN THE DAY AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 77. IF A
SQUALL LINE DEVELOPS...MORE WIDESPREAD WIND DAMAGE WILL BE THE
RESULT. THE GREATEST CHANCE OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE ACROSS THE
PIEDMONT FROM MID AFTERNOON TO EARLY EVENING. THE THREAT OF SEVERE
WEATHER SHOULD END WITH THE PASSAGE OF THE COLD FRONT FROM THE
WEST THROUGH SUNSET.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

CAROLINA THROUGH 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON...

AT 1240 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
DISSIPATING LINE OF SHOWERS AND WEAK THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO
SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA FROM TENNESSEE. ALTHOUGH THE THUNDERSTORMS
HAVE WEAKENED GREATLY ALONG THIS LINE...WIND GUSTS OF 30 TO 40 MPH
MAY ACCOMPANY THE PASSAGE OF THE SHOWERS...ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER
ELEVATIONS.
