NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORMAN OK
407 AM CDT WED AUG 10 2011

.DISCUSSION...
AS ONE COMPLEX OF THUNDERSTORMS EXITS THE CWA EARLY THIS
MORNING... ANOTHER COMPLEX IS MOVING IN A SOUTHEASTERLY DIRECTION
FROM CENTRAL KANSAS. THE BEST CHANCE OF RAIN DURING THE MORNING
WILL BE THROUGH NORTHEAST PORTIONS OF THE CWA... AND A FEW STRONG
TO SEVERE WIND GUSTS CAN NOT BE RULED OUT. COOL OUTFLOW WINDS FROM
THIS COMPLEX WILL LIKELY KEEP TEMPERATURES DOWN A LITTLE ACROSS
MUCH OF NORTHERN OKLAHOMA AS A FAIRLY IMPRESSIVE COLD FRONT BY
AUGUST STANDARDS MAKES ITS WAY INTO THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON.
SHOWERS/STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THIS FRONT BY LATE
AFTERNOON. SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE CWA WILL STAY HOT AND LIKELY
DRY... AND THE HEAT ADVISORY CONTINUES.

NOTABLE RAIN CHANCES WILL CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND. STORMS FROM
THE HIGH PLAINS TO THE WEST HELPED ALONG VIA UPSLOPE FLOW...
OVERNIGHT COMPLEXES MOVING TOWARD THE CWA IN A NORTHWEST FLOW
REGIME... AND AFTERNOON/EVENING STORMS ALONG FRONTAL/OUTFLOW
BOUNDARIES WILL ALL BE POSSIBLE. THE FIRST COLD FRONT IS FORECAST
TO STALL SOMEWHERE IN SOUTHERN OK OR NORTH TX... MOVING BACK OUT
OF THE AREA ON FRIDAY. A SECOND COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO ARRIVE
SATURDAY. SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE CWA MAY NOT COOL OFF MUCH THIS
WEEK... AND WE WILL CONTINUE WITH THE HEAT ADVISORY THROUGH
FRIDAY. VERY WARM TO HOT TEMPERATURES MAY MAKE A RETURN TO THE
ENTIRE CWA NEXT WEEK AS THE MID LEVEL RIDGE RETURNS.
