...HEAVY RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE OUTER BANDS OF IRENE ACROSS
LITCHFIELD COUNTY IN NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...

AT 948 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
BAND OF HEAVY RAIN ACROSS SOUTHERN LITCHFIELD COUNTY.  THIS BAND IS
ASSOCIATED WITH THE OUTER PORTION OF IRENE.

EXPECT AN ADDITIONAL QUARTER TO LOCALLY HALF AN INCH OF RAIN WITH
THIS BAND.  WITH THE GROUND ALREADY SATURATED...THIS RAIN WILL
PRODUCE SOME LOCALIZED PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS AND AREAS OF
POOR DRAINAGE.  THE RAIN WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY THROUGH THE
OVERNIGHT HOURS.
