THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...

  GRAND FORKS COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA AND
  POLK COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MINNESOTA.

* UNTIL 530 AM CDT.

* AT 1121 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS GRAND FORKS 
  COUNTY AND INTO WESTERN POLK COUNTY. MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS IS 
  GENERALLY LESS THAN 10 MILES AN HOUR. RAINFALL RATES OF AROUND
  2 INCHES AN HOUR...AND LASTING FOR A HOUR OR LONGER...WILL CAUSE
  STREET FLOODING IN URBAN AREAS AND RAPIDLY RISING WATER LEVELS 
  IN AREA DITCHES AND STREAMS.

* GRAND FORKS...THOMPSON...LARIMORE...EAST GRAND FORKS AND 
  CROOKSTON WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE HEAVY RAIN. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF  
  NEARLY 2 INCHES HAVE BEEN RECORDED BETWEEN 10 AND 11 PM AT THE  
  NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN GRAND FORKS. 

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. ONE OR TWO FEET OF WATER WILL
FLOAT MOST CARS DOWNSTREAM.
