000 WGUS54 KEWX 090100 FFWSAT TXC187-090500- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 755 PM CDT TUE OCT 8 2002 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES... GUADALUPE * UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT * AT 755 PM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN 10 MILES NORTH OF SEGUIN...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH. THUNDERSTORMS WERE PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES UP TO 2.5 INCHES PER HOUR. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVER THE AREA THIS EVENING. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
