THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  BUREAU COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS
  PUTNAM COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS

* UNTIL 600 PM CDT

* AT 133 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED THAT ROADS NORTH OF 
  PRINCETON WERE COVERED IN WATER.  ROUTE 26 NORTH OF PRINCETON HAD
  PLACES WHERE THE WATER FLOWING OVER THE ROAD WAS 10 TO 15 INCHES
  DEEP.  

* THUNDERSTORMS WERE CONTINUOUSLY REDEVELOPING AND MOVING OVER  
  THE WARNED AREA...LEADING TO VERY HIGH RAINFALL RATES AND THE 
  LIKELIHOOD OF FLASH FLOODING IN THE WARNED AREA.  

WEATHER SERVICE RADAR REPORTS INDICATE THAT 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN 
HAVE FALLEN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE 
POSSIBLE WHERE THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS HAVE OCCURRED.  MORE 
THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE OVER THE AREA IN THE NEXT 2 HOURS...PUSHING 
RAINFALL AMOUTS UP TO NEAR 6 INCHES IN PLACES.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION...KEEP AN EYE ON LOCAL CREEKS... 
STREAMS...DRAINAGE DITCHES...AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS.  BE PREPARED 
TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOUR LOCATION IS THREATENED BY FLOOD 
WATERS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO WATER COVERED ROADWAYS. THE WATER MAY 
BE TOO DEEP TO CROSS SAFELY OR THE ROAD COULD BE WASHED OUT. VEHICLES
CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
