THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ROCK ISLAND COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS
  HENRY COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS
  MERCER COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS

* UNTIL 145 PM CDT

* AT 849 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE LOCATED OVER THE
  WARNED AREA.

* NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT UP 
TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER PORTIONS OF ROCK ISLAND COUNTY.  
RADAR ALSO ESTIMATES THAT 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER 
PORTIONS OF MERCER AND HENRY COUNTIES.  THUNDERSTORMS CAUSING THE 
HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THESE COUNTIES...AND 6 INCHES OR 
MORE OF RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED IN SOME LOCATIONS.  THIS HEAVY RAINFALL 
WILL CAUSE LOCAL STREAMS AND RIVERS TO RISE RAPIDLY AND OVERFLOW 
THEIR BANKS.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND 
UNDERPASSES...AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
