THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BROWNSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHERN KENEDY COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS

* UNTIL 545 PM CDT

* AT 250 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR IN          
  BROWNSVILLE INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY         
  RAINFALL NEAR THE BORDER PATROL CHECKPOINT ON HIGHWAY 77...OR 18   
  MILES SOUTH OF SARITA...MOVING EAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH. DOPPLER RADAR  
  ESTIMATED THAT THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PRODUCED FROM 3 TO 6       
  INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST HOUR OVER THE NORTHWESTERN PORTION OF   
  KENEDY COUNTY.   

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH       
  FLOODING INCLUDE...BORDER PATROL...AND THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF    
  HIGHWAY 77 IN KENEDY COUNTY.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS 
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
