THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS AND THE MIDDLE TEXAS COAST                    
ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS                     

EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 545 PM UNTIL
1100 PM CST.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO
60 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 65 STATUTE MILES EITHER SIDE OF
A LINE FROM 15 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF ALICE TEXAS TO 45 MILES EAST
OF AUSTIN TEXAS.

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.

THE AREA W OF CRP NWD TO NEAR AUS...AND THIS MOIST/UNSTABLE AIR
MASS WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT STRONG STORMS THROUGH TONIGHT.
MODERATE DEEP LAYER/LOW-LEVEL SHEAR...LOW LCL HEIGHTS...AND SEVERAL
RAIN COOLED BOUNDARIES APPEAR SUPPORTIVE OF SUPERCELLS WITH A FEW
TORNADOES.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 1 INCH...EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
