THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  BARBER COUNTY IN KANSAS

* UNTIL 900 AM CDT

* AT 659 AM CDT DODGE CITY DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED WIDESPREAD 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORM ACROSS BARBER COUNTY. THIS AREA OF 
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARY OVER THE NEXT 
FEW HOURS AND THEN BEGIN TO TAPER OFF FROM WEST TO EAST. CONTINUED 
RUNOFF FROM THE HEAVIER SHOWERS EARLIER THIS MORNING COMBINED WITH 
RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES AN HOUR WILL LIKELY TO CONTINUE 
PRODUCE SOME FLASH FLOODING THIS MORNING.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS...DITCHES...GULLEYS...DRAWS...ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND 
ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
