SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TEXAS          

EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 245 PM UNTIL 900
PM CST.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 75 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HONDO TEXAS TO
60 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF TEMPLE TEXAS.

SEVERE.  HODOGRAPHS SUGGEST SUPERCELLS ARE POSSIBLE. 
HOWEVER...PRIMARY THREAT IS EXPECTED TO BE LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING
WINDS.  ACTIVITY SHOULD DEVELOP ESEWD WITH TIME ALONG INSTABILITY
GRADIENT.
