SCURRY COUNTY IN NORTHWESTERN TEXAS * UNTIL 600 PM CDT * AT NOON CDT...WATERS FROM HEAVY RAINS OVERNIGHT WERE STILL COLLECTING AND RISING IN SOME AREAS. SOME LOCATIONS MAY SEE WATERS RISING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...AND ANY ADDITIONAL PRECIPITATION WOULD CAUSE FURTHER RISES AS WELL. FURTHER RAINS ARE STILL EXPECTED IN SCURRY COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. AVOID TRAVEL IF POSSIBLE...AND DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD! AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND TX 1004 AM CDT (904 AM MDT) SAT JUN 12 1999 TOUGH FORECAST TODAY AS FAR AS TEMPERATURES. IF CLOUDS PERSIST ALL DAY THEN GOING FORECAST TEMPERATURES WILL BE TOO HIGH...HOWEVER CURRENT THINKING IS THAT CLOUD COVER WILL BURN OFF BY AFTERNOON AND WILL HAVE NO TROUBLE REACHING THE EXPECTED HIGH TEMPERATURES. CURRENT ZONE FORECAST IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE...HOWEVER WILL TWEAK THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAIN ZONE TO ACCOUNT FOR ALL THE MORNING CLOUDS IN THAT AREA. WILL CONTINUE WITH FFA AS MANY AREAS ACROSS THE CWA WILL FLOOD QUICKLY WITH ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL. WILL CONTINUE THE FFW FOR SCURRY COUNTY UNTIL NOON THEN WILL CHANGE IT TO A FLOOD WARNING AS THIS SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST HIT FLOOD AREA.
