000 TTAA00 KEWX 252300 COR FFWSAT TXC255-493-260100- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 555 PM CDT FRI JUN 25 1999 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING... KARNES COUNTY IN TEXAS WILSON COUNTY IN TEXAS * UNTIL 800 PM CDT * AT 550 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL MERGING OVER KARNES AND WILSON COUNTIES. THESE STORM MERGERS WILL PRODUCE RAINFALL RATES OF AROUND 2 INCHES AN HOUR. MOVEMENT WAS SOUTH AT 10 TO 15 MPH. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
