000 TTAA00 KEWX 250101 FFWSAT TXC163-250215- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 756 PM CDT THU JUN 24 1999 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING... FRIO COUNTY IN TEXAS * UNTIL 915 PM CDT * AT 755 PM...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS UP TO 3 INCHES HAVE FALLEN ACROSS A SMALL AREA 5 MILES EAST OF PEARSALL OVER THE PAST HOUR. STRONG THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PORTIONS OF FRIO COUNTY WITH RAINFALL TOTALS BETWEEN 3 AND 4 INCHES POSSIBLE. THESE HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
