000 TTAA00 KSAT 062009 FFWSAT TXC013-062215- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 208 PM CST TUE JAN 6 1998 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 415 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...ATASCOSA COUNTY AT 2:05 PM...RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER MUCH OF ATASCOSA COUNTY PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES OF ONE AND ONE HALF TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.
