...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED AS A FLOOD WARNING
FOR SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS IN COLUMBIA COUNTY THROUGH 6 AM
THIS MORNING...

THE HEAVY RAINS THAT FELL ACROSS SECTIONS OF COLUMBIA COUNTY
EARLIER WEDNESDAY NIGHT FORCED MANY SMALL STREAMS UP TO AND
OVER THEIR BANKS.  THESE STREAMS WILL REMAIN HIGH THROUGH THE NIGHT
AND WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE FLOODING PROBLEMS IN PARTS OF THE COUNTY
AS ADDITIONAL RAINS MOVE ACROSS ALREADY SATURATED GROUND.  THE
ADDITIONAL RAINS WILL NOT BE AS HEAVY...BUT WITH THE ALREADY WET
CONDITIONS...NOT AS MUCH RAINFALL IS NEEDED TO CAUSE FLOODING.

AREAS ESPECIALLY HARD HIT BY THE HEAVY RAIN AND THE MOST
SUSCEPTIBLE TO ADDITIONAL FLOODING INCLUDE THE NORTHWEST PART OF THE
COUNTY AND EXTENDING SOUTH THROUGH THE TOWN OF WEST TAGHKANIC...
ESPECIALLY AFFECTED WILL BE THE AREA OF MILL CREEK AND STUYVESANT
BROOK.
