000 TTAA00 KMIA 112221 RRA SVRMIA FLC051-099-112315- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 618 PM EDT WED JUN 11 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 715 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH FLORIDA ...NORTHEASTERN HENDRY COUNTY ...WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT WATERS OF LAKE OKEECHOBEE. AT 620 PM...MIAMI DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MOVING INTO NORTHEASTERN HENDRY COUNTY. THIS STORM IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 10 MPH AND COULD PRODUCE LARGE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS HIGHER THAN 58 MPH AS IT PASSES NEAR CLEWISTON IN THE NEXT HOUR. OTHER STORMS ARE STRENGTHENING OVER WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING SLOWLY NORTHEAST AND WILL BE AFFECTING LAKE OKEECHOBEE BY 630 PM. DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. SEEK SHELTER IN A STRONG BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES. THUNDERSTORMS THREATEN BOATER SAFETY WITH GUSTY WINDS IN EXCESS OF 35 KNOTS...ROUGH SEAS AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.
