000 TTAA00 KNEW 051446 RRA SVRNEW MSC005-113-051530- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA 846 AM CST SAT APR 5 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 930 AM CST FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI ...EASTERN AMITE COUNTY...PIKE COUNTY A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED ACROSS EASTERN AMITE COUNTY JUST TO THE EAST OF LIBERTY. THE LINE WAS MOVING EAST 35 MPH. COMMUNITIES IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM ARE GILLSBURG AND MCCOMB. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
