000 TTAA00 KNEW 051408 RRA SVRNEW MSC005-051445- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA 808 AM CST SAT APR 5 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 845 AM CST FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI ...AMITE COUNTY AT 805 AM CST RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS IN WESTERN AMITE COUNTY EXTENDING FROM NEAR ONIEL TO GLOSTER MOVING EAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR. COMMUNITIES IN THE PATH OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS INCLUDE LIBERTY. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE nTORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
