SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1130 AM CST
FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA

   ...NORTHERN JEFFERSON PARISH...ST. CHARLES PARISH

AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS


AT 1020 AM CST...A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS INDICATED BY
RADAR OVER WESTERN ST. CHARLES PARISH...ABOUT 15 TO 20 MILES WEST AND
SOUTHWEST OF THE NEW ORLEANS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT...FROM LAC DES
ALLEMANDS TO JUST WEST OF LAKE SALVADOR. THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST
NORTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR...AND WILL LIKELY PRODUCE LARGE HAIL UP
TO GOLFBALL SIZE AND STRONG WIND GUSTS. THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL REACH
THE RIVER COMMUNITIES OF EAST ST. CHARLES PARISH AROUND 1045 AM AND
HARRAHAN...KENNER AND METAIRIE BETWEEN 1100 AND 1115 AM.

PERSONS IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STURDY SHELTER
IMMEDIATELY.
