THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  830 PM CST
FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA
 
   ...SOUTHERN JEFFERSON PARISH
 
AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS OF SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA.
 
 
AT 750 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A CLUSTER OF STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS ABOUT 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF GRAND ISLE. THE THUNDERSTORM
WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AROUND 45 MILES AN HOUR. THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WILL MOVE OVER AND JUST OFFSHORE GRAND ISLE BETWEEN NOW AND 830 PM.
 
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55
MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR
OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.  HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO
DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
