THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 PM CST
FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA
 
   ...NORTHERN ORLEANS PARISH
 
AND THE ADJACENT WATERS OF LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN.
 
AT 620 PM CST...DOPPLER RADAR IN SLIDELL INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
ON THE LAKESHORE NEAR THE WEST END MARINA. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE
NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH AND WILL FOLLOW ALONG THE SHORELINE THROUGH 640 PM.
 
NEW ORLEANS LAKEFRONT AIRPORT...THE UNO AND LAKESHORE AREAS AS WELL AS
LITTLE WOODS AND UPPER NEW ORLEANS EAST ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM.
LARGE HAIL MAY OCCUR WITH THIS STORM.
 
 
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  REMEMBER
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.  REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO
RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
