000 TTAA00 KSAT 201559 FFWSAT TXC171-299-202000- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 953 AM CST THU FEB 20 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 200 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...GILLESPIE COUNTY...LLANO COUNTY HEAVY RAINS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND SPREAD NORTHWARD ACROSS GILLESPIE AND LLANO COUNTIES. 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN IN GILLESPIE COUNTY..ESPECIALLY THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN PORTIONS. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF LLANO COUNTY. 3 TO 5 INCHES OF ADDITIONAL RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS THOSE COUNTIES BEFORE THE HEAVY RAIN ENDS LATER TODAY. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING COUNTINUES UNTIL 1 PM FOR KERR COUNTY. THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING ISSUED EARLIER FOR REAL COUNTY HAS BEEN CANCELLED. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES THROUGH THE AFTERNOON FOR ALL OF THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY AND ADJACENT AREAS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW S POTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
