000 TTAA00 KSAT 201311 FFWSAT TXC171-201615- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 707 AM CST THU FEB 20 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...GILLESPIE COUNTY AT 705 AM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED MULTIPLE BANDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM BANDERA COUNTY NORTHWARD TO MASON AND LLANO COUNTIES. THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTH AT 30 TO 40 MPH WHILE THE BANDS WERE TRANSLATING EASTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH. HEAVY RAINS OVERNIGHT PRODUCED RAINFALL TOTALS OF AS MUCH AS 4 INCHES OVER WESTERN SECTIONS OF THE COUNTY AND NEAR 2 INCHES OVER THE MID SECTI .RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER THE COUNTY FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS FLOODING LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND LOW LYING AREAS. AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS. TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADS. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
