SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING...CORRECTED.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBUQUERQUE NM
740 PM MDT FRI AUG 1 1997

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  845 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO

   ...WESTERN AND CENTRAL SAN MIGUEL COUNTY

AT 740 PM...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 8 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF LOS MONTOYAS...OR 15 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF LAS VEGAS.
MOVEMENT WAS TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH. OTHER STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED BETWEEN TRUJILLO AND MAES ALSO MOVING SLOWLY
NORTHEASTWARD.

IN ADDITION TO LARGE HAIL...THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE VERY HEAVY
RAIN AT RATES APPROACHING ONE INCH PER HOUR. RAPID RUNOFF WILL LIKELY
PRODUCE DANGEROUS FLOWS IN NEARBY ARROYOS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
MOTORISTS ALONG STATE ROADS 104 AND 419 SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY
CAUTIOUS.

IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A
STRONG BUILDING.  DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.
STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS.
