000 TTAA00 KSLC 140128 FFWSLC UTC037-140300- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT 727 PM MDT FRI SEP 13 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEAST UTAH ...SOUTHERN SAN JUAN COUNTY DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN AREA OF POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM 15 MILE EAST OF BULLFROG UTAH...SOUTHEAST TO THE ARIZONA BORDER. MOVEMENT IS NORTHEAST AT 20-25 MPH. VERY HEAVY RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING AND DEBRIS FLOWS OF DRY WASHES AND SMALL STREAMS. ALSO LARGE HAIL AND STRONG WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THESE STORMS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

STRONGEST STORMS WERE OVER GRAND COUNTY NEAR THOMPSON SPRINGS /NORTH
OF MOAB/ AND IN SOUTHERN SAN JUAN COUNTY NEAR MEXICAN HAT. MOVEMENT
WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 20-25 MPH.
