000 TTAA00 KPHL 192038 FFWPHL PAC089-200100- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHILADELPHIA/MOUNT HOLLY NJ 436 PM EDT SAT OCT 19 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHILADELPHIA/MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN PENNSYLVANIA ...MONROE COUNTY AUTOMATED RAINFALL GAGES INDICATED THAT 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN SO FAR TODAY WITH SEVERAL MORE HOURS OF HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED THROUGH THIS EVENING. THIS ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN WILL BE ENOUGH TO PUSH MANY UNGAGED SMALL STREAMS OUT OF THEIR BANKS THROUGHOUTH THE COUNTY. FALLEN LEAVES WILL EXACERBATE THE PROBLEM BY CLOGGING DITCHES AND STORM DRAINS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. THE DEPTH OF THE WATER MAY BE HIGHER THAN YOU THINK. RAPIDLY RISING WATERS CAN QUICKLY ENGULF YOUR VEHICLE AND ITS OCCUPANTS...WASHING THEM AWAY.
