THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1215 AM EDT
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK
 
   ...ORANGE COUNTY
 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR HAS ESTIMATED THAT THREE TO FOUR
INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN IN THE A NARROW LINE FROM GARNDERVILLE TO
RIDGEBURY AND DENTON NORTHEAST TO NEAR WASHINTONVILLE. THESE RAINFALL
AMOUNTS WILL PRODUCE FLOODING OF STREETS...LOW LYING AREAS AND POSSIBLY
SMALL STREAMS.
 
RADAR ALSO INDICATES THAT ANOTHER AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER
EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA MAY AFFECT THIS AREA WITH ADDITIONAL RAIN. THIS
WOULD ONLY AGGRAVATE ANY FLOODING THAT MAY BE OCCURRING.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
