AT 257 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES SOUTH OF SHERMAN. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHWEST AT LESS
THAN 10 MPH. DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH...TORRENTIAL RAIN... AND
DEADLY LIGHTNING CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM. SHERMAN IS IN THE PATH
OF THIS STORM.
 
 
IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK6 SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A
STRONG BUILDING.  DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH EARLY EVENING
FOR ALL OF NORTH TEXAS.  THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ABILENE...
SHERMAN...PARIS...DALLAS-FORT WORTH METROPLEX...WACO.

THE ATMOSPHERE ACROSS NORTH TEXAS CONTINUES TO BE VERY MOIST AND
UNSTABLE.  AFTERNOON HEATING COMBINED WITH SURFACE BOUNDARIES FROM
PREVIOUS THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALLOW SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP.
A FEW OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP MAY REACH SEVERE LIMITS.
THE MID LEVEL WINDS REMAIN WEAK...SO THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE SLOW
MOVING WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR VERY HEAVY RAINFALL.

THE MAIN THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE
WINDS.  DUE TO THE WEAK WIND FIELD...TORNADOES ARE UNLIKELY THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
