THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GAYLORD HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 820 AM EDT

IN NORTH LOWER MICHIGAN

   ...NORTHERN CHEBOYGAN COUNTY

AND A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 820 AM EDT
FOR THE NEARSHORE WATERS OF LAKE HURON FROM...

   ...MACKINAC BRIDGE-HAMMOND BAY
 
AT 730 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF CHEBOYGAN IN NORTHERN
CHEBOYGAN COUNTY. THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH AND
WILL REACH THE NEARSHORE WATERS OF NORTHERN LAKE HURON FROM
MACKINAC BRIDGE TO CHEBOYGAN BY 745 AM.

THE STORM IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH AND MOVE INTO THE OPEN WATERS OF
LAKE HURON BY 810 AM.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND LARGE HAIL CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR
OF YOUR HOME.

BOATERS SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOR IMMEDIATELY.  BOATS IN PORT SHOULD
NOT VENTURE OUT UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.
