000 TTAA00 KALB 132048 FFWALB NYC111-140145- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY 448 PM EDT THU JUN 13 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 945 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEASTERN NEW YORK ...NORTHEASTERN ULSTER COUNTY THUNDERSTORMS WITH EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS EXTREME NORTHEASTERN ULSTER COUNTY. DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR ESTIMATES AROUND 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN THIS AFTERNOON FROM WOODSTOCK TO SAUGERTIES. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS HAVE FORMED WEST OF THIS REGION AND THEY WILL MOVE EAST AND DROP ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN BETWEEN 500 AND 600 PM. THIS WILL CAUSE THE SAWKILL AND PLATTE KILL CREEKS TO RAPIDLY RISE AND OVERFLOW THEIR BANKS. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
