FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  230 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST NEW YORK
 
   ...NORTHWESTERN RENSSELAER COUNTY
 
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN HAVE REMAINED NEARLY STATIONARY ALONG
AND WEST OF ROUTE 40 IN NORTHWESTERN RENSSELAER COUNTY FOR THE PAST
2 HOURS. DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATES UP TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
FALLEN ACROSS THESE AREAS THIS EVENING. COMMUNITES THAT RECEIVED THE
HEAVIEST RAIN WERE WEST OF MELROSE AND SCHAGHTICOKE...INCLUDING
HEMSTREET PARK.
 
MORE THUNDERSTORMS ARE DEVELOPING OVER THESE AREAS AND THIS WILL
ADD TO THE POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCHES NUMBER 594 AND 595 HAVE EXPIRED.
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE THIS EVENING IN EASTERN NEW YORK
AND SOUTHERN VERMONT BUT THE THREAT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS HAS
DIMINISHED.  THUNDERSTORMS WILL STILL PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN.
