THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY  HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 815 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN EASTERN NEW YORK
 
   ...ALBANY COUNTY
 
THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO DRIFT ACROSS CENTRAL
AND NORTHWESTERN PORTIONS OF ALBANY COUNTY. DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR
INDICATES THAT UP TO 2.3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN NEAR BERNE AND
ALTAMONT BETWEEN 200 AND 300 PM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL REMAIN NEARLY
STATIONARY THROUGH 400 PM...DROPPING UP 2 ADDITIONAL INCHES OF RAIN.
 
RAPID RISES WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE NORMANSKILL AND FOX CREEKS AND THEY
MAY OVERFLOW THEIR BANKS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
