THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHEAST KANSAS
 
   ...SOUTHEASTERN RILEY COUNTY
 
AT 1020 PM...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM LOCATED ABOUT
10 MILES EAST OF JUNCTION CITY AND ABOUT 7 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MANHATTAN.
 
THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST AT ABOUT 30 MPH...AND THE TOWN OF
ZEANDALE...WHICH IS 10 MILES EAST OF MANHATTAN...IS IN THE PATH OF THIS
STORM.
 
LARGE DAMAGING HAIL HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH THIS STORM...AND PEOPLE IN
SOUTHEAST RILEY COUNTY SHOULD TAKE SHELTER AT ONCE.  THE CITY OF
MANHATTAN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS WARNING.
 
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  REMEMBER
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.
