IN NORTHWEST TEXAS ...SOUTHWESTERN MOTLEY COUNTY AT 514 PM WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO NEAR ROARING SPRINGS IN SOUTHWESTERN MOTLEY COUNTY. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. AT 250 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER PORTIONS OF THE SOUTH PLAINS. ONE STORM WAS LOCATED IN SOUTHEASTERN LUBBOCK COUNTY FROM 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF LUBBOCK TO 5 MILES NORTH OF SLATON. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING IN SOUTHERN LUBBOCK COUNTY NEAR WOODROW AND IN SOUTHEASTERN TERRY COUNTY. A THUNDERSTORM HAD DEVELOPED IN THE SOUTHERN PANHANDLE SOUTHEAST OF SILVERTON.
