000 TTAA00 KSAT 111747 SVRSAT TXC453-111845- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 1242 PM CDT THU MAY 11 1995 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 145 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...TRAVIS COUNTY AT 1240 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR MARBLE FALLS WITH MOVEMENT TOWARD THE EAST AT 30 MPH TOWARD LAGO VISTA IN NORTHERN TRAVIS COUNTY. GOLF-BALL SIZED HAIL HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH THIS STORM. PERSONS ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER FROM AUSTIN NORTHWARD SHOULD BE ALERT TO THIS STORM. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAN REACH SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH. THESE WINDS BLOW DOWN TREES...POWER LINES...AND SEVERELY DAMAGE MOBILE HOMES... SOMETIMES BUILDINGS. VERY LARGE HAIL CAN INJURE ANYONE CAUGHT OUTSIDE. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED JUST TO THE WEST OF NEW BRAUNFELS. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 20 TO 25 MILES AN HOUR. STRONG GUSTY WINDS...HEAVY RAIN...DANGEROU$S LIGHTNING AND SMALL HAIL ARE LIKELY WITH THIS STORM.
