FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTH WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...BARBOUR COUNTY...RANDOLPH COUNTY...UPSHUR COUNTY
 
HEAVY RAINS MOVED INTO THE WARNING AREA AROUND 2 AM THIS WEDNESDAY
MORNING. AUTOMATED RAIN GAGES INDICATED FROM 1/2 TO UP TO 1.20 INCHES OF
RAIN HAS FALLEN. WEATHER RADAR INDICATED AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL
CONTINUE OVER THIS AREA FOR AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 3 HOURS. THIS ADDED RAIN
WILL CAUSE SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS TO OVERFLOW, ALONG WITH FLOODING TO
LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ALERT TO STANDING
OR FLOWING WATER ON THE ROADWAYS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
