THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BECKLEY WV HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...WYOMING COUNTY
 
AN AUTOMATIC RAIN GAUGE IN CENTRAL WYOMING COUNTY AND SURFACE REPORTS
CONFIRM THAT HEAVY RAINFALL HAS CAUSED A DRAMATIC RISE ON STREAMS AND
CREEKS IN CENTRAL AND WESTERN WYOMING COUNTY.
 
AT LYNCO, ALONG RT. 971, STREAMS WERE VERY NEAR BANKFULL AND ADDITIONAL
RAIN WILL BRING THEM OUT OF THEIR BANKS TO THREATEN LIVES AND COVER
ROADS.
 
AT SIMON, POOR DRAINAGE HAS RESULTED IN DEEP WATER ACROSS COUNTY RT. 6.
WATER REPORTEDLY IS STANDING A FOOT DEEP IN SOME YARDS.
 
RAIN WILL CONTINUE DURING THE PREDAWN HOURS TO ONLY COMPLICATE MATTERS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
