IAZALL-070040- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DES MOINES IOWA 644 PM CDT MON JUN 6 1994 ...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND NORTHWEST UNTIL 800 PM CDT THIS EVENING... ...A SEVERE THUNDRSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTH CENTRAL...CENTRAL...AND SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA UNTIL MIDNIGHT... AT 630 PM...INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WERE OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL IOWA. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE LOCATED IN A 20 MILE WIDE AREA CENTERED FROM 20 MILES SOUTH OF SPENCER...TO 15 MILES NORTH OF FORT DODGE...NEAR HUMBOLDT...TO 15 MILES WEST OF MASON CITY...NEAR GARNER. THESE STORMS ARE CABABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND TORRENTIAL RAINFALL. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE PART OF A LARGER AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LOCATED IN A 80 MILE WIDE BAND CENTERED FROM 20 MILES SOUTHEAST OF FORT DODGE TO THE MINNESOTA BORDER 25 MILES NORTH OF SPENCER. ALL PRECIPITATION WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. PETERSEN
