THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANTONIO HAS EXTENDED THE
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTH TEXAS
 
   ...ATASCOSA COUNTY
 
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
ATASCOSA COUNTY.  THE WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT.  MODERA
TO HEAVY RAINS CONTINUE TO FALL ACROSS ATASCOSA COUNTY IN ADDITION TO
THE 3 TO 4 INCH RAINS OF THE PAST FEW HOURS.  MANY ROADWAYS ARE FLOODED
AND REMAIN CLOSED TO TRAFFIC AT THIS TIME.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE
RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RAINS.
