000 TTAA00 KMSP 180127 SVRMSP MNC129-127-180215- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MINNEAPOLIS MN 827 PM CDT WED JUL 17 1991 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MINNEAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 915 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA ...SOUTHERN RENVILLE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA ...NORTHERN REDWOOD COUNTY AT 825 PM RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ABOUT 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF REDWOOD FALLS NEAR GRANITE FALLS. THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. THE STORM SHOULD PASS THROUGH OR NEAR BELVIEW...DELHI...REDWOOD FALLS AND MORTON BY 915 PM. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING..MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DON'T USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOS WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A STRONG BUILDING. A NEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT COVERS MUCH OF CENTRAL MINNESOTA INCLUDING THE ST CLOUD AREA. AT 630 PM CDT THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO DEVELOP OVER CENTRAL MINNESOTA. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS LOCATED 20 MILES NORTHWEST OF ALEXANDRIA AND WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MPH. OTHER STRONG STORMS WERE LOCATED IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND NORTH OF THE TWIN CITIES. ALTHOUGH NO SEVERE WEATHER HAS BEEN REPORTED SINCE 500 PM THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONG WINDS...LARGE HAIL...HEAVY RAINS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES DOES EXIST WITH THESE STORMS AS THEY MOVE THROUGH CENTRAL MINNESOTA.
