THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES
IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL PART OF KANSAS
WESTERN BUTLER...EASTERN SEDGWICK
AT 750 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
MID-WAY BETWEEN WICHITA AND AUGUSTA...ALONG THE SEDGWICK-BUTLER
COUNTY LINE. THIS STORM WAS MOVING VERY SLOWLY TO THE EAST BUT
HAD DEVELOPED BACK TO THE WEST SINCE 730 PM.
THERE HAD BEEN NO REPORTS OF SEVERE WEATHER WITH THIS STORM SINCE
THE 1 INCH HAIL REPORT NEAR TOWANDA SHORTLY AFTER 7 PM CDT. HOWEVER
THIS STORM REMAINS VERY STRONG.
REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND DO OCCASIONALLY DO
PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. BE ON THE
LOOKOUT.
PEOPLE IN ANDOVER AND AUGUSTA SHOULD BE PARTICULARLY ALERT FOR THE
POSSIBILITY OF SEVERE WEATHER UNTIL 845 TO 900 PM THIS EVENING.
