THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 215 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES:
IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY RADAR JUST SOUTHWEST OF
LAWRENCEVILLE IN GWINNETT COUNTY.
THERE WAS LITTLE MOVEMENT TO THE STORM.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH,
DESTRUCTIVE HAIL, DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR
PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR

MAIN FORMING AREA HAS BEEN FROM ATHENS NORTHWESTWARD. SEVERE CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS EXPECTED ALONG WITH BRIEF GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS.. PERSONS SHOULD SEEK SHELTER AWAY FROM THE STORMS AS THEY FORM NEAR THEM. BOATERS SHOULD BE VERY ALERT TO ANY FORMING CLOUDS IN THEIR AREA.
