THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 410 PM EDT FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF
 
WESTERN NEW YORK... CATTARAUGUS... ERIE
                                                                         
AT 300 PM...BUFFALO WEATHER RADAR SHOWED AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM         
10 MILES NORTH OF JAMESTOWN. THE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING EAST NORTHEAST 
AT 60 MILES AN HOUR.  THE THUNDERSTORM ISEXPECTED TO CROSS THE       
NORTHWEST PORTION OF CATTARAUGUS COUNTY AND PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN ERIE 
COUNTY. 
 
BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING
STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO
CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING.
 
IF TdHREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY.
