Two people have died and more than 30,000 were displaced when a long-dormant volcano in Indonesia erupted. This is the first confirmed eruption in historical time, though there was possible explosive activity in 1881, and CVGHM (the Indonesian volcanological agency) is saying the last eruption was in 1600.
