   Light damage. Surface peeled off some roofs, gutters and siding damaged, branches broken, shallow-rooted trees pushed over.

   Moderate damage. Roofs badly stripped, mobile homes overturned or badly damaged, exterior doors lost, windows broken.

3. EF2111 to 135 mph

   Considerable damage. Roofs torn off well-built houses, frame homes shifted on their foundations, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, cars lifted off the ground.

4. EF3136 to 165 mph

   Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

5. EF4166 to 200 mph

   Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

6. EF5over 200 mph

   Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

   The survey recorded a tornado but could not put a number on it, most often because it crossed open country and damaged nothing a rating can be read from.

A brief EF-1 tornado occurred northwest of the intersection of Snake Road and Reed Hall Road in Blacklick Township, Cambria County. The tornado snapped off, and uprooted hundreds of trees along a 0.32 mile path before lifting just to the west of Reed Hall Road at 8:51 PM. The estimated peak wind speed was 105 mph, and the maximum path width was approximately 100 yards. Sporadic straight line wind damage was noted to the north and south of the tornado path as well.

A brief EF-0 tornado occurred to the west of Gresh Road southeast of Colver in Cambria Township, Cambria County on the evening of August 12, 2023. The tornado uprooted trees along a 0.2 mile long path and damaged a house and outbuilding on Gresh Road. The tornado lifted at approximately 8:57 PM.

A brief EF-1 tornado occurred northwest of the intersection of Snake Road|and Reed Hall Road in Blacklick Township, Cambria County. The tornado uprooted trees along a 0.2 mile long path and damaged a house and outbuilding on|Gresh Road. The tornado lifted at approximately 8:57 PM.
